Job summary

Community Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Physical Therapist for our Missoula, MT acute rehab/adult medical-surgical team. You will contribute to patient care with assessments, care plans, and therapy using standard PT techniques and supervising staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physical therapy (DPT not required, but eligible).
• Montana Physical Therapist license or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients.
• Establish plans of care aligned with patient goals.
• Design and implement individualized physical therapy programs.
• Utilize standard physical therapy techniques and equipment.
• Supervise assistants, students, and support staff as needed.
• Assess competence and delegate tasks with clear communication.
• Apply physical agents and modalities (ultrasound, heat, cold, etc.).
• Evaluate prosthetic/orthotic devices and suggest modifications.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel.
• Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.
• Administers treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.
