Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis in Memphis, TN is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to provide high-quality inpatient rehabilitation services. The role is located inside Methodist University and operates on a PRN/Per Diem/As Needed basis.

The PT will perform assessments, develop treatment plans, supervise PTAs and students, and participate in discharge planning, documentation, and ongoing education. Current state licensure and BLS completion within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Certified BLS or completion within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Set goals and develop treatment plans.
• Identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Supervise PTAs and PT/PTA students.
• Conduct individual therapy regimens and monitor response to treatment.
• Complete documentation in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Engage in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Performing initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.

• Working cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
• Participating in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
• Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants, as well as supervising PT and PTA students.
• Conducting individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitoring patient's response to treatment and modifying treatment during sessions, as needed.
• Completing appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participating in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist required.
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
