North Carolina Specialty Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide evaluation, treatment and discharge planning in accordance with physician orders. You will develop personalized plans and educate patients on home programs, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive evaluations, administering therapies, documenting progress, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives in a patient-centered environment.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Hospital/orthopedic or rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Current North Carolina Physical Therapist License; BLS required.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, documentation and customer service skills.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety activities.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Inpatient Services, the Physical Therapist will provide physical therapy evaluation, treatment, education and discharge planning in accordance with physician orders and professional standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct evaluations including strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration and motor function.
• Develop individualized treatment plans.
• Administer therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and modalities.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient progress.
• Educate patients on home exercise programs and assistive devices.
• Document evaluations, treatments, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety activities.

Experience, Training & Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
• Hospital, orthopedic or rehabilitation experience preferred
• Current North Carolina Physical Therapist License; BLS required
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, documentation and customer service skills
