Job Description

Provides educationally based PT evaluations, treatments, and consultations to pediatric clients within the educational environment. Works in conjunction with the school district's child study teams and teachers to ensure that services are relevant and useful in meeting the student's individual education plans (IEP).

Position Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates comprehensive evaluation skills and interventions, including evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and modifying the plan of care as appropriate. Meets IEP mandates per student.
2. Maintains and completes all student documentation, records, and reports, ensuring they are educationally based, timely, thorough, and professional, in accordance with regulatory and department guidelines.
3. Consults with the student's child study team, teachers, family, paraprofessionals, district and non-district therapists, CST staff, contract coordinator, supervisors, and offsite director to provide quality patient care and effective operations.
4. Attends and participates in required meetings including school team meetings, student IEP meetings, CST meetings, and others as needed. Flexibility in scheduling is required to accommodate student treatment schedules without negative impact.

Required Experience and Education

• Educationally based pediatric experience preferred.
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in physical therapy from an APTA-accredited program.
• Current licensure in the State of NJ.
• CPR certification.
• School certification by the NJ Department of Education.
