Job summary

Candor Consulting & Diagnostics is seeking a school-based Physical Therapist to support students’ mobility and independence within the educational setting. The role includes evaluations, IEP collaboration, direct therapy or supervision of PTAs, and progress documentation to guide service planning.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Physical Therapy with Texas licensure and CPR certification; bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Active license by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate needs with comprehensive PT evaluations in line with Texas standards.
  • Communicate evaluation results to parents, educators, and district personnel with clear recommendations.
  • Develop IEP-based, individualized therapeutic interventions to address student goals.
  • Provide direct therapy or supervise PTAs implementing IEP goals.
  • Monitor progress with data collection and document progress for IEP reviews.
  • Participate in ARD meetings and collaborate with families and MDTs.

Your Role:

As a school-based Physical Therapist, you’ll play a key role in helping students improve their mobility, access their educational environment, and achieve greater independence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluate Needs: Conduct comprehensive Physical Therapy evaluations using standardized tools, observations, and student-centered assessments to determine the need for specialized services in alignment with Texas education standards.
  • Communicate Findings: Share evaluation results with parents, educators, and district personnel, offering clear, actionable recommendations that promote students’ access to education and functional independence.
  • Develop Interventions: Collaborate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team to design evidence-based, individualized therapeutic interventions that address student-specific needs, support functional goals, and enhance participation in the educational environment.
  • Provide Therapy: Deliver direct therapy services or supervise licensed Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) in implementing IEP goals.
  • Monitor Progress: Collect, analyze, and document student progress data, maintaining detailed and accurate records that inform IEP reviews and ongoing service planning.
  • Support Teams: Actively participate in ARD meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions to advocate for students and contribute to the enhancement of special education programs.
