Job summary

Freeman Health in Joplin, MO is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to implement treatment plans, document progress, and contribute to discharge planning for patients referred by physicians. You will collaborate with therapists to restore function, improve mobility, and promote safe, independent activities at work and home.

The role requires current Missouri PTA license, AHA BLS certification within 60 days, and successful completion of KDADS background checks.

Qualifications

• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 60 days.
• Current Missouri Physical Therapy Assistant license.
• Must be able to pass KDADS criminal record check upon hire; must register with and pass the Family Care Safety Registry upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Follows a treatment plan independently, delivers and documents care, and completes discharge planning for physician-referred patients.
• Supervises and directs the treatment and activity of support staff, ensuring compliance with ethics, standards of practice, regulations, and departmental policies.

• Freeman therapists also teach patients to use assistive and adaptive devices, such as crutches, prostheses and wheelchairs

What You’ll Do

Independently follows a treatment plan based on therapist/goal directed objectives, delivers/documents are, and provides D/C planning on all physician referred patients. Supervises and directs the treatment and activity of support staff. Performs tasks in compliance with the professional code of ethics, standards of practice, state/national regulations, hospital standards, and departmental policies/procedures.

Requirements:

AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 60 days.

Current Missouri Physical Therapy Assistant license.

Must be able to successfully pass KDADS criminal record check upon hire.
