Children's Health is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for the inpatient team at the Dallas Campus. The staff therapist participates in evaluation and treatment of patients using PT principles, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery and discharge planning.

Responsibilities include performing PT evaluations, coordinating scheduling, maintaining equipment, and contributing to ongoing professional development; licensure in Texas and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct Physical Therapy evaluations and re-evaluations per standards of practice and document progress.
  • Coordinate and prioritize own schedule in relation to patient treatment needs.
  • Demonstrate proper use and maintenance of department equipment; attend meetings and contribute to program development.
  • Collaborate with physicians, patients, family, and care team for effective discharge planning.
  • Perform duties in compliance with laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Summary

The incumbent in this position is a staff therapist who participates in the evaluation and treatment of patients based upon current principles and practices of Physical Therapy and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Children's Health philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct Physical Therapy evaluations and re-evaluations to patients in accordance with standards of practice while demonstrating progression of treatment plans and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions; report on patient progress through appropriate written documentation; collaborate with physicians, patients, family, and other members of the health care team relative to patient treatment and progress as well as other affiliated agencies with regard to effective discharge planning; use unscheduled time to flex to other work areas for patient treatment.
  • Coordinate and prioritize own schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment and other departmental responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies; attend and participate in departmental meetings, in-services, rounds and peer reviews; participate in program development as assigned by site leader; and participate in continuing education programs or other opportunities for learning for continued professional competency.
  • Ability to meet physical and non-physical demands as outlined in the job description.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area.
Work Experience

  • At least 1 year job related experience Preferred
  • New grads will be considered
EDUCATION
  • Masters Degree Required
  • Bachelors Degree Required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Physical Therapist - Essential License to practice physical therapy in the State of Texas Required
  • Basic Life Support--BLS Essential Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by Life Support Course Required
