Job summary

Qualifications

• Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy required.
• Current Massachusetts licensure to practice physical therapy.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and ability to manage patient caseload.
• Ability to attend to detail more than 70% of work time.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates referred patients for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms using tests, measurements, and history.
• Develops comprehensive treatment plans with patient/family and physician, including goals and expected outcomes.
• Administers therapeutic techniques and monitors patient response, adjusting as needed.
• Confers with patient/family, referring physician, staff, vendors, or facilities to coordinate care and discharge planning.
• Adapts communication to patients with hearing, vision, or cognitive needs.
• Documents care accurately in the medical record and for billing purposes.
• Assists in orientation, training, and supervision of PT assistants, aides, students, and volunteers.
• Maintains and enhances professional knowledge via CE programs and literature.
• Participates in department meetings and performance-improvement activities.
