Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist I to join the UHealth Department of Physical Therapy in Miami, FL. The PT I will deliver physical therapy and wellness services to patients with impairments or changes in function due to injury or disease, collaborating with physicians, occupational therapists, and psychologists.

Core duties include evaluating new patients, documenting sessions, educating patients and families, and ensuring safe, effective use of therapy tools

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
• No previous experience required.
• Valid State of Florida Physical Therapist license required.
• Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates new patients, establishes goals, and develops appropriate treatment plans.
• Documents all evaluations and treatments daily.
• Educates patients and families regarding medical conditions and home activities.
• Communicates with physicians to obtain necessary information and suggest treatment revisions.
• Utilizes rehabilitation equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain productivity and adjust schedule for clinical needs.
• Participate in quality and safety improvement activities.
• Supervise assistants and support personnel as directed.
• Provide education to patients/families about conditions and home activities.
• Develop and maintain communication with rehabilitation team.
