The Physical Therapist II provides effective and efficient rehabilitation services to patients and clients in accordance with the APTA guidelines for physical therapy. The Physical Therapist II collaborates with healthcare teams that include physicians, occupational therapists, and psychologists.**CORE JOB FUNCTIONS** 1. Performs evaluations of new patients to include the establishment of goals and appropriate treatment plans.2. Progresses patients through different levels of treatment within the patient’s maximum capabilities.3. Documents all evaluations, treatments, and other pertinent patient interactions.4. Provides relevant education to patients and families regarding medical conditions.5. Maintains effective communication with all members of the rehabilitation team.6. Communicates with physicians and their staff to obtain additional information and suggests revisions in treatment.7. Participates in quality and safety improvement activities.8. Orients, instructs, and directs work activities for assistants and support personnel.9. Supervises and instructs physical therapy students according to professional guidelines.10. Provides or participates in educational programs for staff, patients, and the community at large.11. Represents the University at non-departmental conferences and seminars.12.
