Job summary

Mercy seeks a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to assess adults and elderly patients and design individualized treatment programs. Under therapy leadership, you will supervise patients and rehab staff while following Mercy standards of care.

The role requires a PT license in the state, BLS certification, and preferred 6–12 months of rehab experience. Mercy offers strong benefits and a collaborative work environment in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current State license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification current.
• Six months to one year experience in rehab therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans for adults and geriatrics.
• Provide direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.
• Supervise PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Position Details:

Education: Current State license of Physical Therapy. Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Experience:
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
