Job summary

Mercy seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive treatment programs for adults and the elderly. You will supervise patients, rehab techs, and PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.

This role requires a current PT license, a degree in physical therapy (Bachelors, MS, or DPT), and BLS certification. Prior rehab experience with adults/geriatrics is preferred. Mercy offers strong benefits and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Current State license of Physical Therapy.
• Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before care for patients independently.
• Six months to one year experience in Rehabilitation Physical Therapy preferred for adult and geriatric care.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians; supervise PT assistants as per state acts.
• Deliver care in alignment with Mercy mission, values and Service Standards.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
