Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care and contribute to the therapy team’s outcomes in a dynamic setting.

The role emphasizes evaluating and treating patients, coordinating with families and physicians, documenting in medical records, and contributing to the professional development of staff within a collaborative interdisciplinary model.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Physical Therapy evaluation and treatments.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
• Understanding of the principles of physical modalities employed in Physical Therapy.
• Knowledge of prosthetic and orthotic devices ambulatory aids, assistive and resistive devices, and training.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of patients.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing accurate, comprehensive patient evaluations.
• Developing effective plan of treatment and obtaining approvals from referring physician.
• Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants/other Physical Therapists and/or Aides in direct patient care and patient related activities.
• Communicating with supervisor and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems, and treatment plans.
• Instructing patient’s families and/or nursing staff in specified follow through programs.
• Interviewing patients and families regarding previous level of functioning, life style and current and future expectations for recovery.
• Demonstrating knowledge of appropriate resources for problem-solving and clinical best practice.
