Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care and contribute to the rehabilitation program. You will evaluate patients, design and adjust treatment plans, and supervise PTAs and aides while coordinating with physicians and the care team.

Excellent communication and documentation skills are essential as you document care and participate in team conferences to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Physical Therapy evaluation and treatments.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
• Understanding of the principles of physical modalities employed in Physical Therapy.
• Knowledge of prosthetic and orthotic devices ambulatory aids, assistive and resistive devices, and training.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of patients.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients, document in medical records.
• Develop treatment plans and obtain physician approvals.
• Supervise PTAs/therapists and/or aides in direct patient care.
• Communicate patient progress to supervisor and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct families and nursing staff in follow-up programs.
• Interview patients/families regarding prior function and recovery expectations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize care.
