Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship seeks a Physical Therapist to conduct objective assessments and develop comprehensive treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.

The position includes supervision of patients, rehab technicians, and PT assistants, following Mercy policies and standards. Required licensure and BLS certification, with a preferred six months to one year of rehab experience and comfort with multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required and current.
• Current Physical Therapy licensure in the state of practice.
• Six months to one year experience preferred for rehab PT.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop individualized treatment programs for adults and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehab technicians and PT assistants.
• Contribute to care planning in alignment with Mercy mission and standards.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure

Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.

Experience

Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Preferred Experience

Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
