Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients. You will supervise patients, oversee rehabilitation technicians, and guide PT assistants under state practice acts.

Education includes a Bachelor, MS in PT, or DPT; licensure must be current in the state of practice, with BLS certification. Prior experience with adult/geriatric care is preferred, and Mercy offers strong benefits and

• Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certification is required and must be current before patient care independently.
• Six months to one year of rehabilitation experience is preferred, with emphasis on adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of patients and supervision of rehabilitation technicians; general supervision of PT assistants.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.

Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
