Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide patient-centered care in a collaborative setting. You will conduct assessments, design and implement treatment plans, and document progress in private treatment rooms to ensure each patient receives individualized attention.

You will educate patients and families, coordinate discharge planning, supervise assistants, and participate in ongoing education and case reviews.

Qualifications

• Must hold current licensure by Maine State Board of Examiners in Physical Therapy.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues to optimize knowledge and techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; educate patients clearly.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Documents subjective, objective, and assessment findings for patient progress.
• Educates and counsels the patient and family/caregiver.
• Plans patient discharge from therapy services with ongoing care.
• Supervises and delegates care by physical therapy assistants per laws and standards.
• Participates in onsite education and case reviews.
• Maintains direct communication with Orthopaedic Physicians and staff.
• Works on-site with a collaborative team.
