Job summary

Stratford Manor Rehabilitation & Care Center in West Orange, NJ seeks a per diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join the Therapy Team under a PT. The PTA will measure, record, and report resident progress, assist with exercises, and support gait/balance training.

Requirements include an accredited PTA program graduate and a current NJ PTA license; prior long-term-care experience is preferred. Per diem role with excellent compensation and benefits offered.

Responsibilities

PTA Duties Include

• Work as part of the Therapy Team under the guidance of a PT.
• Measure and record residents' function and gait training.
• Observe residents and write progress reports.
• Assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Treat residents with a variety of techniques, including balance and gait training.
• Help residents use necessary equipment and devices.
• Educate residents on how to exercise properly to strengthen muscle and improve function.
• Maintain residents’ confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Contribute to the entire team’s effort and goals.

PTA Requirements Include

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program
• Current NJ State PTA License
• Experience in long-term-care settings preferred
