Job summary

Avant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Trenton, NJ is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our clinical team. You will implement treatment plans, assist residents with mobility exercises, and document progress under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

The ideal candidate holds NJ PTA licensure, graduates from an accredited PTA program, and demonstrates strong communication, teamwork, and compassionate care in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current New Jersey PTA licensure.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents in exercises and therapeutic activities to improve mobility, strength, and coordination.
• Monitor and document residents’ progress and report to the Physical Therapist.
• Educate residents and families on techniques and exercises to support rehabilitation.
• Ensure safety and comfort during therapy sessions and maintain a positive environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Adhere to facility policies and guidelines to ensure high-quality care.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implement individualized treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents in exercises and therapeutic activities aimed at improving their mobility, strength, and coordination.
• Monitor and document residents’ progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist.
• Provide education to residents and their families on techniques and exercises to support rehabilitation.
• Ensure safety and comfort during therapy sessions, maintaining a positive and encouraging environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
