Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant implements physical therapy programs and provides treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

1. Implement resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the Physical Therapist.
2. Provide physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises.
3. Assist the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
4. Organize and facilitate treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist.
5. Instruct residents, families, and caregivers in physical therapy skills under supervision.
6. Work with the rehabilitation team to develop programs suited to residents’ needs.
7. Maintain documentation for all residents treated.
8. Attend and contribute to resident care and staff meetings.
9. Maintain and report on equipment needs.
10. Ensure high-quality, compassionate service to residents and families.

Educational and Vocational Requirements

1. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program (American Physical Therapy Association certified).
2. Licensed as required by the State.

Job Skills

1. Good organizational and time management skills.
2. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Duties

1. Interact with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
2. Perform other tasks as needed, including hands-on interventions.
