Position Details

  • Potential to become a permanent position after temporary coverage

Responsibilities
  • Organize and conduct physical therapy programs under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to facilitate resident rehabilitation.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing Physical Therapy services to ensure high-quality resident care.
  • Perform treatment programs for assigned residents.
  • Accurately enter billing information in a timely manner.
  • Report resident progress in meetings such as UR Meetings and Family Conferences.
  • Coordinate with the rehabilitation team and provide residents with necessary equipment.
  • Document therapy sessions and resident responses comprehensively and accurately.
  • Perform routine documentation as per policies, signing and dating all entries.
  • Collaborate with all departments to promote harmonious working conditions and optimal resident care.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Licensed in NY State as a PTA in good standing.
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and harmoniously with staff.
  • Sincere interest in working with the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Respect, dignity, and compassion towards residents and staff.
  • Covid-19 vaccinations encouraged but not mandatory; vaccination is based on CDC guidelines.
