Job summary

Driftwood Healthcare Center-Hayward is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team. The PTA administers treatments and conducts measurements for neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions, following an established care plan and maintaining patient confidentiality in all records.

Qualifications include an Associate degree in PTA and California licensure; one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current California PTA license required.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment for neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Performs tests and measurements of strength, ROM, and vitals.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per plan of care.
• Keeps patient records confidential and compliant with regs.
• May assist with home assessments to aid discharge.
• Completes forms per company policy and state/federal rules.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinincal treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
