Job summary

Driftwood Healthcare Center-Santa Cruz is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide treatment under plan of care and to support patient discharge planning.

Qualified candidates hold a CA PTA license, an associate degree, and may have 1 year of clinical experience. A sign-on bonus is available and benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, PTO, referral bonuses, and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• 1 year clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
• Current CA PTA license required.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to neuromuscular/musculoskeletal patients.
• Performs tests for strength, coordination, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory function.
• Delivers direct clinical treatment per care plan.
• Maintains patient confidentiality of records.
• May assist with home assessments to support safe discharge.
• Completes forms/docs per policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
