Job summary

Glendale Transitional Care Center is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support residents with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal needs in an on-site setting. The PTA will administer treatments, perform assessments, document progress, and collaborate with PT/OT staff to ensure safe discharge planning.

Requirements include an associate degree in PTA, California PTA license, and at least one year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program required.
• Current license to practice as a PTA in California.
• One year of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate in home assessments to ensure safe discharge with PT/OT involvement.
• Completes required forms and documents per company policy and regulations.

Education

Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program

One year of clinical experience preferred

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinincal treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
