Job summary

Monterey Palms Healthcare Center in Palm Desert, CA is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our caring team. The PTA administers treatments, performs measurements, and helps implement care plans for residents.

We offer a sign-on bonus, PTO, and referral bonuses. The ideal candidate holds an PTA associate degree, California license, and has one year of clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires PTA associate degree.
• California PTA license active.
• One year clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal problems.
• Performs tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate in home assessments to ensure safe discharge with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents per company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinincal treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
