Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to assist the Physical Therapist in providing therapy services. The role involves performing PT procedures, documenting progress, and coordinating departmental workload under the supervision of a PT.

You will modify procedures as patient status changes within the treatment plan, address age-specific needs, and ensure patient safety and comfort per policy. Collaboration with the therapy team is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Current state licensure or a state-authorized temporary permit/license.
• Entry-level experience acceptable for PTA role.
• Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy services.
• Document patient progress notes and treatment outcomes.
• Provide technical direction to Physical Therapy aide and coordinate department workload.
• Adapt treatment procedures within PT plan based on patient status.
