Job summary

University Physical Therapy in Virginia is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our outpatient orthopedic and sports rehabilitation team. You will collaborate with licensed therapists to guide patients through exercises, restore mobility, and help patients regain independence after injury or surgery.

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Active Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant license.
  • Outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine experience preferred.
  • New graduates with a passion for orthopedic rehabilitation are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercise programs and hands-on interventions to improve function, mobility, and strength.
  • Educate patients on injury prevention, recovery strategies, home exercise programs, and long-term wellness.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate updates with the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Continue developing your clinical skills while staying current with evidence-based orthopedic and sports rehabilitation practices.

Job Description

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you'll partner closely with our Physical Therapists to help patients regain strength, mobility, and confidence after injury or surgery. You'll play an important role in helping patients achieve their goals and return to the activities they enjoy most.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver evidence-based treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercise programs and hands-on interventions to improve function, mobility, and strength
  • Educate patients on injury prevention, recovery strategies, home exercise programs, and long-term wellness
