Job summary

East Suburban Sports Medicine Center in Monroeville, PA is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to support licensed therapists in delivering high-quality outpatient orthopedic care. You will implement individualized treatment plans, instruct patients, and help maintain accurate documentation.

This full-time position requires CAPTE-accredited PTA education, PA PTA licensure, and BLS certification, with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current Pennsylvania PTA license or ability to begin licensure promptly.
  • BLS CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross).
  • Outpatient orthopedic experience preferred, including exercise instruction and manual therapy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse patients.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills for multi-patient flow.
  • Commitment to HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and patient education
  • Provide direct patient care in an outpatient orthopedic setting, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail
  • Instruct patients on proper exercise techniques, body mechanics, and home exercise programs to support recovery
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic standards
  • Communicate effectively with patients, Physical Therapists, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
  • Monitor patient progress and report observations to supervising Physical Therapists to support treatment plan adjustments
  • Assist with clinic operations and patient flow management, demonstrating strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient treatment environment
  • Support patients with compassion and encouragement throughout their rehabilitation journey
  • Stay current with best practices in physical therapy and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Outpatient orthopedic experience, including exercise instruction and manual therapy techniques (preferred)
  • Sports rehabilitation or injury prevention experience (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse patient populations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple patients and tasks efficiently
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform hands-on patient care and demonstrate exercises
  • Self-directed work ethic with a proactive approach to problem-solving and clinic efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to follow treatment protocols and work collaboratively within a team-based environment
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality requirements
  • Compassionate, empathetic approach to patient care with a commitment to supporting patient goals and outcomes
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced clinical setting
