Job summary

La Crescenta Healthcare Center is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in California. The PTA will provide patient care within the established plan of care and collaborate with PT for discharge planning and safety assessments.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree from a PTA program.
• One year of clinical experience preferred or new graduates welcomed.
• Current California PTA license is required to practice.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Performs tests and measurements of strength, ROM, coordination, and respiratory/circulatory function.
• Provides direct clinical care according to a plan of care.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and accurate documentation.
• May assist with home assessments and discharge planning with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes forms and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
