Responsibilities

• Assisting the Physical Therapist in the implementation of treatment intervention
• Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, mobility, and function
• Providing training to individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, and documenting results
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Support individuals' plan of treatment by documenting and reporting status changes to the multidisciplinary team as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant training program
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant certification in the state of practice
• Current CPR certification in accordance with state regulations
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy interventions
• Familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics, and/or home health
• One year of experience preferred; new grads encouraged to apply
• Ability to lift 50 pounds; duties may involve lifting up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
• Physical requirements include fine motor skills, visual acuity, walking, and standing for extended periods, as well as pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, kneeling, and positioning
• A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter
