Job summary

DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in Detroit seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. The role involves evaluating motor and neurological function, administering standard PT procedures, and guiding patient rehabilitation both in-hospital and via home programs.

You will mentor staff, participate in interdisciplinary care, and ensure equipment maintenance and supply management across units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or certification from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Three years of clinical experience to acquire skills for independent patient treatment.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan.
• Minimum of 60 points on the professional growth and development criteria.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients using standard physical therapy procedures such as heat, cold, electricity, traction, ultrasound and exercise.
• Evaluate patients' motor and neurological capabilities and document findings.
• Develop home care programs for patients and provide instruction to families during hospitalization and upon discharge.
• Co-sign notes written by physical therapy assistants, aides and/or students.
• Oversee/instruct/evaluate PT assistants, aides, students and/or volunteers as assigned.
• Maintain equipment and supplies in assigned treatment areas; suggest purchases as needed.
