JOB SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist provides care to patients through evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, patient education, and discharge planning to maximize the patient's functional level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Evaluates, treats, and monitors patients. Modifies therapy programs and goals as needed.
  • Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately. Understands reimbursement related to the practice setting.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, departmental coworkers, and members of the medical care team. Provides education to patients, families, and staff.
  • Supervises ancillary staff, students, and volunteers.
  • Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Shares knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns personal goals and work activities to support or influence system objectives.

  • Possesses problem-solving skills necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Exhibits good communication skills and maintains professional and positive relationships with patients, families, and facility staff.
  • Demonstrates leadership and teamwork skills, ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Proficient in computer skills; operates multiple computer systems and standard rehabilitation equipment.
  • Maintains high attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Can multitask effectively while maintaining high productivity levels.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Experience: Acute care experience preferred.
  • Certification/License/Registration: Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or (OT). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
