Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a civilian Physical Therapist for MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. The role offers a full-time schedule (40 hours/week) from Monday through Friday with no weekend duties, plus paid time off and holidays.

The setting includes on-site support staff and a structured environment to balance patient care with work-life harmony. The ideal candidate will hold an APTA-approved PT degree, be licensed in any state, meet CAPTE standards, and possess a valid

Qualifications

• Masters or Baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA-approved program.
• Active state Physical Therapist license
• Graduate from CAPTE-approved college/university
• Experience to meet clinical competency requirements at the Base
• Valid BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF including differential diagnosis.
• Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on evaluation.
• Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities.
• Administer manual therapy including joint mobilization/manipulation and soft tissue mobilization.
• Coordinate treatment with physician and staff to obtain patient information and revise treatment plans.
• Perform prevention and wellness activities, education, screening, and promote positive health behaviors.

The Physical Therapist Will Have The Following Requirements

• Masters or Baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapist Association (APTA) approved program.
• Any state Physical Therapist License
• Graduate from college or University approved by the CAPTE
• Experience required to meet clinical competency requirements specified by the Base
• Valid BLS certification

Core Duties

• Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical

privileges granted by the MTF including differential diagnosis.

• Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient.
• Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, such as

non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in use of assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.

• Administer manual therapy to include: joint mobilization/manipulation and soft tissue mobilization, applying knowledge of mobilization techniques and body physiology.
• Certification in dry needling preferred.

• Administer traction to relieve pain, using traction equipment.
• Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart and/or automated systems.
• Coordinate treatment with physician and other staff members to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of the patient's health care. Contact referring physicians regarding patient care concerns, as required.
