Job summary

AMEDISYS HOME HEALTH is seeking a Physical Therapist for PRN day shifts in Sumter, SC. You will help patients maintain and improve movement and function, delivering interventions and reexaminations on a regular cycle.

A CPR certification and an active PT license are required. Experience in home health is preferred; if you have less than one year, regional leadership approval and mentoring or residency participation is expected.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy in the assigned state.
• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy program as per CAPTE.
• One year of home health PT experience recommended for new entrants.
• If <1 year, regional clinical leaders must approve with mentoring or residency participation.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Help patients maintain, restore and improve movement, activity and function.
• Provide interventions, conduct reexaminations every 30 days at minimum, modify interventions as needed, and perform discharge planning.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy specific to the state you're assigned to work in.


• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy educational program as set by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).


• One year related physical therapy experience for PTs entering home health care to ensure that knowledge and skills are sufficient to safely provide physical therapy services to patients.


• If less than one year of experience, approval from regional clinical leaders is required as well as appropriate mentoring and/or participating in a residency program.


• Current CPR certification.
