Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our home health team in Portland, ME. You will help patients maintain, restore and improve movement and function, delivering interventions and reexaminations on a regular cycle.

A positive impact on patients' comfort at home is central to this role. Qualified candidates hold a current PT license, graduated from a CAPTE-accredited program, and ideally have one year of home health experience.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy in the assigned state.
• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy program per CAPTE.
• One year of PT experience in home health is preferred; mentoring may be required for less experience.

Responsibilities

• Help patients maintain, restore and improve movement, activity and function.
• Provide interventions, conduct reexaminations every 30 days at minimum, adjust plans as needed, and perform discharge planning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Responsible for helping patients maintain, restore and improve movement, activity and function.

• Provides interventions, conducts reexaminations (every 30 days, at minimum), modifies interventions as necessary, and performs discharge planning.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy specific to the state you\'re assigned to work in.

• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy educational program as set by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• One year related physical therapy experience for PTs entering home health care to ensure that knowledge and skills are sufficient to safely provide physical therapy services to patients.
• If less than one year of experience, approval from regional clinical leaders is required as well as appropriate mentoring and/or participating in a residency program.
• Current CPR certification.
