Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Physical Therapist at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. The role involves comprehensive PT evaluations, developing patient-specific plans of care, and delivering treatments to restore function and minimize pain.

Providers’ Plan of Care and APTA standards guide practice within this environment. The position requires a graduate from an accredited PT program, licensed to practice in the state, with BLS or the ability to obtain within 30 days.

  • Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapist program required.
  • Current applicable state license as a Physical Therapist; BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days; valid driver's license with vehicle for home care as specified by policy.

The Physical Therapist role performs physical therapy evaluations, develops plans, and carries out treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; helps patients reach their maximum performance in accordance with the Plan of Care prescribed by the provider. Provides all aspects of care based on standards established by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapist program required.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as a Physical Therapist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
  • Experience: One year of experience working in a hospital, long‑term care, home, school system, or outpatient Physical Therapy department preferred.

The pay range for this position is $83,324.80to $112,736.00per year.

Compensation for part‑time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full‑time equivalent (FTE).
