Job summary

MaineHealth seeks a Physical Therapist to perform evaluations, develop plans of care, and deliver treatments to restore function and relieve pain. The role follows the Plan of Care prescribed by the provider and adheres to American Physical Therapy Association standards.

The position requires graduation from an APTA-accredited PT program, current state licensure, and BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days). Home Care roles may require a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapist program required.
  • License/ Certifications: Current applicable state PT license; BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Home Care roles require a valid Driver's License with vehicle.
  • Experience: One year hospital/long-term care/home/school/outpatient PT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical therapy evaluations and develop plans of care.
  • Carry out treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.
  • Provide care per standards established by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Summary:
The Physical Therapist role performs physical therapy evaluations, develops plans, and carries out treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; helps patients reach their maximum performance in accordance with the Plan of Care prescribed by the provider. Provides all aspects of care based on standards established by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapist program required.
  2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as a Physical Therapist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
  3. Experience: One year of experience working in a hospital, long-term care, home, school system, or outpatient Physical Therapy department preferred.

The pay range for this position is $83,324.80to $112,736.00per year.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
