Job summary

IU Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist for the Ball Hospital Outpatient location in Muncie, IN. This full-time role involves providing comprehensive PT services within a multidisciplinary center offering aquatic therapy and specialized rehab programs.

The candidate should hold a Doctoral or a eligible Bachelor’s/Master’s in Physical Therapy (prior to 2016), possess Indiana PT licensure, and maintain BLS certification. Advanced life support may be required depending on unit needs.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in physical therapy or Bachelor's/Master's in physical therapy prior to 2016; foreign-trained with equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
• Current Physical Therapist license in Indiana.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
• Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to restore function, reduce pain and prevent disability; supervise PT assistants and support personnel.
• Contribute to patient care, education and department operations within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

• Requires a Doctoral Degree from an accredited academic program in physical therapy or a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in physical therapy prior to 2016. If foreign trained, graduation from a physical therapy education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
• Requires current Physical Therapist license in the State of Indiana.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

This location is a multi-discipline specialty centerthat offers PT, OT, and SLP services.Aquatic therapy,pelvic floor rehabilitation, lymphedema, neuro rehabilitation, orthopedics, and vestibular rehabilitation are among the services offered here.There is a large team of therapists in this facility withmany opportunitiesto learn from colleagues.Experience intreating neurological and orthopedic conditions ispreferredbut notrequired.

Provides physical therapy services to restore function, reduce pain and prevent disability following disease or injury, and assists patients to reach maximum performance levels. Provides all components of direct patient care including supervision of physical therapist assistants, support personnel and students. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.
