Job summary

Mercy Fort Smith is seeking a Physical Therapist for a per diem role. You will conduct objective assessments and develop individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients, under supervision of Therapy Leadership and in line with Mercy standards.

The position requires licensure in the state, a current BLS certification, and preferred 6–12 months of rehab experience, especially with adults and geriatrics. Mercy offers strong benefits and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certified. Must be current before caring for patients independently.
• Six months to one year experience preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist.
• Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs objective assessments and develops comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians; supervision of PT assistants as per State Practice Acts.
• Duties carried out in alignment with Mercy mission, values and service standards.

• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
