Job summary

Mercy Health in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant per diem to support therapy leadership. You will perform objective assessments and design individualized treatment programs for adults and geriatrics, while supervising patients and rehabilitation staff in accordance with state practice acts.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the applicable state.
• May be entry-level for PTA.
• Health Care Provider Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.
• Provide general supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.

Requirements

• *Education*: Associate's degree.
• *Licensure*: Current license to perform as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Board of Physical Therapy in the applicable State of practice.
• *Experience*: Physical Therapist Assistant may be entry-level.
• *Certifications*: Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.
• *Physical Requirements*:
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
