Full-Time Physical Therapist: Orthopedic & Sports Focus - DC Area

The Physical Therapist will deliver high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy services with a focus on orthopedic and sports-related conditions. You will be key in promoting optimal movement, performance, and recovery through individualized care plans, patient education, and essential interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Advanced Evaluation: Perform comprehensive evaluations for musculoskeletal and sports injuries using advanced clinical reasoning and standardized outcome measures.
- Individualized Treatment: Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans focused on pain reduction, mobility restoration, strength optimization, and successful return-to-sport readiness.
- Hands-On & Functional Care: Provide skilled hands‑on manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, and advanced sport‑specific training.
- Collaboration: Coordinate care and optimize outcomes by collaborating effectively with referring physicians, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on injury prevention, proper biomechanics, and strategies for performance enhancement.
- Documentation & Outcomes: Maintain compliant documentation and track patient progress using validated outcome tools (e.g., LEFS, DASH, PSFS), adjusting plans based on clinical findings.
- Clinical Oversight: Provide clinical oversight to students and clinical direction to Physical Therapist Assistants within the Outpatient Physical Therapy Department.
- Professional Growth: Actively participate in team meetings, mentorship, continuing education, and support clinic outreach programs/workshops as needed.
Qualifications for Success
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent in Physical Therapy, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (4‑10 years).
- Licensure: Active state license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
- Certifications: Current CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (DPT, Ph.D.) or equivalent; or more than 10 years of related experience and/or training.
- APTA membership.

- Clinical Proficiency: High‑level clinical reasoning and proficiency in manual therapy techniques and functional movement analysis.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from patients, referring clinicians, and the general public.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in industry‑specific software, EMR systems, and standard office applications (spreadsheets, presentations).
- Physical Agility: Ability to constantly stand, walk, demonstrate exercises, and frequently lift/transfer patients and equipment (up to 50–100 lbs occasionally) as required for hands‑on patient care.
IMPORTANT NOTE
This is a Full‑Time position. Weekend availability may be required on a rotating basis.
