The Physical Security Operator is responsible for safeguarding critical electrical energy infrastructure in compliance with federal, state, and industry standards. Emphasizes public safety coordination, private sector field communications, and critical infrastructure protection, including familiarity with NERC CIP requirements. Ensuring effective communication between internal teams and external agencies.
Required: Be able to possess within three (3) months of employment a Basic instructor-led 40-hour telecommunicator course, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, and a TWIC clearance.
Preferred: Possess at time of employment a formal, basic instructor-led 40-hour telecommunicator course (or have a working knowledge of: APCO ANS 3.103.2.2015 and APCO ANS 3.104.2-2017).
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required: 4 years of experience in law enforcement, security, military, public safety communications, or communications within the physical security industry.
Preferred: Experience in public safety, private security communications in the critical infrastructure protection and energy sector security. Knowledge of NERC physical security standards.
Required: Strong situational awareness and diligence. Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure. Excellent communication and people skills. Familiarity with security technology (CCTV, access control systems, radios).
Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Standing and walking for extended periods.
Ability to climb stairs.
