Job summary

Atwell, LLC is seeking a Physical Designer for the Datacenter group in Colorado. You will draft and model substation layouts, gather BOMs, and select hardware to deliver on-time, quality deliverables. This role supports both local and remote participation.

Salary ranges from $31.00 to $42.00 per hour, based on Denver labor market. In-office Lakewood option is available, with comprehensive benefits and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates degree in related field preferred.
• Experience: 1–4 years drafting/design/engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required.
• Strong command of English, written and verbal comms skills.
• Good interpersonal and people skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Responsibilities

• Assists in detailed design of substation and conventional generation as needed.
• Produces physical substation packages including general arrangements, elevations, BOM, conduit, grounding, lighting, and illumination.
• Selects hardware for appropriate applications.
• Works effectively as part of a team or independently with oversight.
• Maintains high ethical and professional standards.
• Attends conferences, training, seminars for professional advancement.
• Attends safety training and follows safety rules.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Position

As a Physical Designer in the Datacenter group, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with our engineering teams. Physical Designers are responsible for drafting and modeling in a manner that provides the client with a quality deliverable that is on time and within budget.

Salary Range: $31.00 - $42.00 / hour

The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.

This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, Colorado) candidates.

Must Have

• Education: Associates degree in related field preferred
• Experience: 1 – 4 years of drafting, design, engineering, or related experience
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required
• A strong command of the English language
• Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
• Good interpersonal and people skills
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice to Have

• Proficiency with and/or knowledge of AutoCAD 3D modeling software a plus
• Proficiency with Civil 3D would be a plus
• Proficiency with MicroStation would be a plus
