Job summary
College of Southern Nevada, located in the Las Vegas metropolitan area, seeks a full-time, tenure-track Photography Instructor to teach and mentor students, integrate Adobe CC and Capture One into coursework, and advance inclusive teaching practices. The instructor will balance teaching, research, and service while supporting student success and program growth.
The position includes opportunities for professional development, service on committees, and engagement with regional arts communities.
Qualifications
- A BFA or terminal degree in photography or a closely related field.
- A minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience.
- Seven years of active commercial photography experience and a strong professional portfolio.
- Experience teaching, curriculum development, student mentorship, and assessment of student learning.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in commercial photography and related areas.
- Develop and deliver instructions in digital image capture, post-production, and presentation.
- Advise and mentor students in portfolio development and career readiness.
- Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and facilities improvement.
- Contribute to department, school, and college committees.
- Engage in creative research and professional practice and pursue grants.
