Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a process engineer to join the Photo Team, focusing on establishing and maintaining world-class processes/equipment and implementing yield improvements. You will identify complex problems and implement solutions within a 24x7 FAB environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with process data analysis, lean manufacturing principles, and strong communication to share insights across teams.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field (3.0 GPA+ for new grads).
• Experience scripting in Python or VBA, or equivalent language.
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and Change Point Management.
• Familiarity with Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
• Proficient in structured problem solving (8D, 7-step).
• Experience with software data analysis tools (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab).
• Ability to work in a clean room and lift <35 lbs in a FAB environment, and sit at a computer for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication process by addressing inline issues and dispositions.
• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinate qualifications scheduling and downtime with manufacturing or equipment engineering.
• Use software to analyze data and identify trends to guide processing decisions.
• Make parameter adjustments and monitor tools after maintenance.
• Execute in-line changes (CPM) to process or equipment.
• Communicate technical information through department presentations.
• Continuously revise SOPs and develop improved processes to increase capability.
