Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Phlebotomy or related field; or similar technical certifications and training.
• Tutoring certification preferred
• Experience teaching, tutoring, or delivering academic support at postsecondary level preferred
• Experience in large, urban community college environment desirable
• Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Provides academic assistance and tutoring to students individually or in groups across a wide range of subjects.
• Helps tutees gain deeper understanding of course materials and improve academic success.
• Develops tutoring plans addressing tutee weaknesses and strengths.
• Implements study skills strategies and time management techniques.
• Schedules tutoring sessions based on student requests and needs.
• Assists in problem solving and critical thinking within subject areas.
• Encourages positive attitudes and motivation toward learning.
• Maintains records of tutoring activities and provides assessments as required.
