Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years phlebotomy experience.
• Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) from ASCP or equivalent within 6 months of hire.
• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to coordinate and deliver training to clinical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Lead phlebotomy training to ensure proper technique and patient comfort.
• Promote and train consistent phlebotomy skills with improvement plans and follow-up.
• Maintain section materials and inventory; place orders as needed.
• Perform equipment maintenance checks and report variations.
• Enter patient demographics and test orders accurately in the system.
• Communicate effectively with laboratory, clinic, and hospital staff.
• Organize work to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
• Collaborate as a team member to support the section’s efficiency.
