Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist for our Medical Office Building in Elkhorn, NE. The role requires promoting phlebotomy skills, maintaining equipment, and accurate data entry to support timely lab results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years phlebotomy experience.
• Certification as Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Promote and train phlebotomy skills by meeting with employees and writing improvement plans.
• Promote good phlebotomy skills.
• Write and follow-up with improvement plans.
• Maintain materials to ensure supplies by inventory and orders.
• Operate equipment (centrifuges, freezers, refrigerators) and report variations.
• Enter patient information accurately in the computer for timely reports to caregivers.
• Communicate effectively within the lab, clinic, and with hospital personnel, couriers and clients.
• Prioritize and organize work to complete multiple tasks efficiently.
• Collaborate as a team member to improve section efficiency.
