Labcorp in Fairbanks, AK is hiring a Phlebotomy Trainee. The program pays while you train and you will attend phlebotomy school within 30 days of hire, with hands-on experience in PSC or clinic environments and opportunities to join as a phlebotomist after licensure.

You will greet patients, assist with registration, handle data entry, verify insurance, and support specimen collection. The schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00am–5:00pm with potential overtime and Saturdays, and Labcorp offers

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service and strong verbal communication skills required.
• Proficient computer and typing skills required.
• Alpha-numeric data entry proficiency preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend phlebotomy school within 30 days of hire (paid for by Labcorp).
• Direct observation of phlebotomy collections in PSC or clinic environment.
• Schedule patient appointments and greet patients on arrival.
• Ensure a welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
• Assist patients with registration and check-in procedures.
• Data entry of patient demographics and billing information.
• Verify insurance coverage and post payments to patient accounts.
• Collect and prepare specimens for testing when needed.
• Call physician offices to confirm test orders.
• Monitor and log patient wait times regularly.
