Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Trainee in Seattle, WA to join our patient service team. The role involves preparing patients, collecting specimens, and supporting registration and billing tasks in a friendly, fast-paced clinic environment.

The position offers a paid Phlebotomy Trainee Program with structured training and growth into a phlebotomy role. Evening and occasional Saturday coverage may apply as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years direct patient care experience.
• 2+ years face to face customer service experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
• Excellent customer service and strong verbal communication skills.
• Alpha-numeric data entry proficiency.
• Proficient computer and typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend phlebotomy school within 30 days of hire; paid for by Labcorp.
• Direct observation of phlebotomy collections in PSC or clinic.
• Schedule patient appointments and greet patients on arrival.
• Ensure a welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
• Assist patients with registration and check-in procedures.
• Data entry of patient demographics and billing information.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect/post payments.
• Collect and prepare specimens for testing when needed.
• Call physician offices to confirm test orders.
• Monitor and log patient wait times regularly.
